InBody FAQs

How long does the scan take?

The actual scan takes less than 60 seconds. Your total appointment will take about 10–15 minutes, allowing time for our team to review the results with you.

Is it safe?

Yes. The InBody 580 uses safe, low-level electrical currents to measure body composition. However, we do not recommend the scan for individuals with pacemakers, other electronic medical implants, or those who are pregnant.

Do I need to undress?

No. Unlike other methods, you do not need to remove your clothing. You will simply need to remove your shoes and socks to allow the electrodes to make contact with your feet.

How often should I get scanned?

For those on a weight loss or muscle-building journey, we recommend scanning every 4–6 weeks. This provides enough time to see meaningful changes in body composition rather than just daily fluctuations.

What is Visceral Fat?

Visceral fat is the fat stored around your internal organs. Unlike subcutaneous fat (under the skin), high levels of visceral fat are linked to increased health risks. The InBody 580 provides a specific "Visceral Fat Level" to help you monitor this critical health marker.
